Navigation from Puerto Ibañez to Chile Chico
The Posada del Río, Casa Jeinimeni is located in Chile Chico, in an area of 4 hectares, a sector of great tranquility and silence, ideal place to rest and enjoy the typical landscape of the Southern Patagonia of Chile.
The first day on our Full Carretera Austral itinerary, you will travel from Balmaceda airport to the small border town of Chile Chico. A part of the route is done by land and the last part you will sail through General Carrera Lake. During the first part of the journey you will travel through a landscape dominated by forests of lenga, coigüe and ñire, vegetation that covers the entrance point to the Cerro Castillo National Reserve, highlighting the hill of the same name (2675 m of height) and the valley of the Ibáñez river. At the afternoon you will arrive at Puerto Ingeniero Ibáñez, to make a ferry trip on General Carrera Lake to reach Chile Chico.
Group transfer from Chile Chico to Puerto Bertrand
Located in Puerto Bertrand, on the shore of the Baker River, Green Baker Lodge is an ideal place to enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the amazing Carretera Austral.

Today after breakfast you will start the trip along the entire south bank of General Carrera Lake. During the journey, you will enter the impressive Paso de las Llaves and be able to appreciate the magnitude of the Northern Ice Field, where the summit of Mount San Valentín stands out, the highest in all of Patagonia. Then, continuing your way, you will stop at the confluence of the Baker and Neff Rivers, and later reach the town of Puerto Bertrand.

Third day of our Full Carretera Austral itinerary, after breakfast you will start the trip to Caleta Tortel, an amazing and beautiful town.
Caleta Tortel is a small town located near the mouth of the Baker River, on the rocky coast, about 1130 kilometers south of Puerto Montt, 126 kilometers from Cochrane and 152 kilometers from Villa O’Higgins. Although the Carretera Austral directly connects Cochrane with Villa O’Higgins, halfway there is a gravel route of about 23 kilometers leading to Caleta Tortel. This route was built in 2004 and, until then, the only way to get there was by boat. Enclosed between the forest and the sea, the town was built entirely of wood from Cipres de las Guaitecas, an characteristic tree in the area, the town has no streets, so there are no cars. The beautiful and colorful houses are connected by extensive wooden walkways where you will enjoy walking.
After breakfast we will spend the day walking through the beautiful town. Those who wish can take the navigation on the Baker River to Isla Los Muertos, a mysterious island that keeps terrible secrets about the first settlements of the area.
Group transfer from Caleta Tortel to Puerto Guadal
Located on the shore of the General Carrera Lake, the Terra Luna Lodge has capacity for 68 people, offering different types of accommodation in wooden buildings. A wolderful place to relax and enjoy the great panoramic views.
Today you will start the way to Pto Guadal. Along the way, you will stop in the Los Ñadis sector, to visit a characteristic chapel built by the famous Father Antonio Ronchi. Then, you will continue the trip to Puerto Guadal on the banks of the turquoise waters of General Carrera Lake. This lake is shared with Argentina (Buenos Aires Lake in Argentina side) and is the largest lake in Chile and the second in South America, with an area of 978.12 km².

The sixth day in our Full Carretera Austral itinerary you will start the trip back to Coyhaique, bordering General Carrera Lake with its blue waters until we reach the town of Puerto Río Tranquilo. Here you will take a navigation until we find the wonderful Shrine of Nature Marble Chapels, place of great scenic beauty, where the constant swell of the lake has eroded and polished the limestone, leaving beautiful caverns of capricious forms and great attractiveness. Afterwards, we will continue our return along the Carretera Austral towards the city of Coyhaique
Group transfer from Coyhaique to La Junta
Espacio y Tiempo Hotel welcomes its guests in a cozy atmosphere amidst the green gardens and facing the mountains of the Lake Rosselot National Reserve with everything you need to enjoy a real rest.
Today you will go on a full day excursion to La Junta by the Carretera Austral. During the tour you will visit the Queulat National Park and know its attractive Hanging Snowdrift. In the middle of the afternoon, we will arrive at the Puyuhuapi Fjord, an arm of the Pacific Ocean that enters the Patagonian Andes, you will continue our trip to the town of Puerto Puyuhuapi, a beautiful and small port village, with colorful wooden houses and colorful gardens, testimonies of the history of German colonization. At dusk we will arrive at the town of La Junta, whose name comes from the confluence of the Palena and Rosselot rivers.
Gruop transfern from La Junta to Chaitén
Today you will continue the journey along the Carretera Austral, we will pass through the imposing hanging bridges of the Rosselot and Palena rivers. Then, you will find Lake Yelcho, which is a beautiful lake of glacial origin, with emerald green waters. Later, when you approach the Corcovado Gulf, you will arrive at the city of Chaitén and its destroyed streets, after the eruption of the volcano of the same name, which continues in soft activity until today.
Group transfer from Chaitén to Futaleufú
The ninth day of the Full Carretera Austral itinerary you will begin the road northbound, until we reach the entrance of Pumalín Park (289,562 hectares), declared a Nature Sanctuary. 66% of its surface corresponds to native forest, such as Larch (the oldest living specimen exceeds 3,600 years, being the second longest tree species in the world). Then, you will travel to the east, winding the Futaleufú River, internationally famous for its very high level of demand in Kayak and Rafting competitions. In the afternoon you will be arriving at the town of Futaleufú.
Group transfer from Futaleufú to Puyuhuapi

RAFTING EXCURSION IN FUTALEUFÚ RIVER: (NOT INCLUDED – Subject to weather conditions): Bridge to Bridge Section – Class III, IV, & IV + (8 km): This section is one of the most popular and fun of the Futaleufú River, its great Water volume makes your rapids an unforgettable adventure. For this section of the river it is not necessary to have previous experience. This section is called “Bridge to Bridge” because its rapids are between 2 bridges (Zapata and Futaleufú Bridge). It includes class III, IV and IV + rapids, such as «Suspension Bridge», «Magic Carpet», of pillows, and «Mundaca», and many more. Duration approximately 4 hours.
