Carlos III Island Eco Camp, a unique Eco-Adventure in the Strait of Magellan. A one-of-a-kind eco-lodge nestled on Carlos III Island, located is situated on Carlos III Island, approximately 90 nautical miles south of the city of Punta Arenas, in the southernmost region of Chile. The camp is located within a protected marine reserve, Francisco Coloane Marine Park, known for its high concentration of marine life, including humpback whales, sea lions, dolphins, and seabirds, in the heart of the , within the legendary Strait of Magellan, in southern Chilean Patagonia.

This remote and pristine destination offers a front-row seat to one of the most biodiverse and untouched marine environments on the planet. EcoCamp Carlos III offers not just a place to stay, but a transformative journey through Patagonia’s marine wilderness, where wildlife, sustainability, and comfort coexist in harmony.

Geodesic Domes

Carlos III Island Eco Camp’s guests are accommodated in comfortable and eco-friendly geodesic domes, designed to blend with the surrounding landscape and minimize environmental impact. The accommodation consists of: 8 guest domes equipped with twin or double beds, thermal insulation, and panoramic views of the sea and mountains and 1 lounge dome used for presentations, briefings, and relaxing after daily excursions. The domes are cozy and warm, with gas heating, private bathrooms with eco-friendly dry toilets, and solar-powered lighting. 

Gastromony

Dining at Carlos III Island Eco Camp is an experience in itself. The kitchen offers homemade Patagonian cuisine, thoughtfully prepared by an on-site chef using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Meals are hearty, flavorful, and reflect the culinary traditions of southern Chile. Some of the highlights include:
• Magellanic lamb, slow-cooked over an open flame
• King crab (centolla), a regional delicacy from nearby fjords
• Freshly caught fish and seafood
• Traditional stews, soups, and vegetables from local producers
• Homemade bread, desserts, and Patagonian wines
Meals are served in a warm, communal atmosphere in the dining dome, encouraging storytelling and bonding among guests and guides after each day’s adventure.
